The USPS May 12th rate change will raise a first class letter price from 41 to 42 cents and the postcard rate will raise from 26 to 27 cents.
The new Shape-Based Pricing, de-emphasizing weight, will produce the following changes:
- 2 oz letter moves from 58 to 59 cents
- 2 oz flat moves from 97 cents to $1.00
- 2 oz parcel moves from $1.30 to $1.34
The biggest change for standard class mail is for parcels, with the creation of distinct prices, more pre-sort tiers and new drop ship option called destination delivery unit. Any mailing project that can be changed to a flat or letter will save you considerably.
The USPS will increase drop ship incentives through lower prices for Destination Bulk Mail Center (DBMC) mail, take advantage of these incentives by mailing with Continental Press.
