General Info
How do you set up a bleed?
To create a bleed in a document in most applications:
The page size should be the size of the final piece. For example if the finished item measures 8.5 x 11 inches, that is the size your document page should be. To create the bleed, any item that prints to the edges of the page should be extended off the page by 1/8” (.125). Be aware that this will be cut off to create your final printed piece, so be sure you are not extending areas of photos or graphics that you do not want trimmed off. When you make a pdf of a document with bleeds, be sure to have it include the bleeds and trim marks.
The exception to the above directions is Publisher. It does not allow for bleeds, so you need to make your document oversized to allow for the bleed to be created. For example, create your 8.5 x 11” document the correct size, but place it on an 11x17” page. You will still need to pull the items that print to the edge of the page 1/8” beyond where it will be trimmed.

Can we use a “different” font for the address?
The Post Office requests that we use a “machine font”. We use Arial

You can mail 100 pieces as first class mail. To get to the presorted standard pricing we need to have at least 200 pieces.
Can I mail square envelopes at the standard first class rate?
No, these envelopes will require additional postage, and they don’t get a presorted standard rate since they don’t meet the length height ratio. (Divide the length by the height. The result needs to fall between 1.3 and 2.5.)
Will I have to pay for the postage before or after my mailing?
You will have to provide us with a postage check when we take the mailing to the distribution center. (The check should be made out to the Postmaster)
What is the delivery time frame for my mailing doing presorted vs. first class?
The post office can “officially” hold a presorted mailing for up to 2 weeks before they mail it. Since most of the mailings that we do are within the state of Minnesota, the mail usually goes out within a couple of days.
